Staff Product Manager, AI

Posted 3 days ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the development of an AI-native grid resilience product from initial problem identification to the delivery of the first version for customer use.

• Determine what features to develop (and equally what to exclude) by integrating customer insights, AI feasibility, and Overstory's overarching vision.

• Create and implement agentic, AI-native workflows in close collaboration with engineering and design, prioritizing prototypes, evaluations, and real customer feedback over extensive specifications.

• Establish success metrics for this new domain, define what excellence looks like, and ensure the team remains accountable as we iterate.

• Maintain clear and consistent communication with the wider Overstory team, making our decisions transparent, sharing insights, and clarifying trade-offs.

• Contribute to Overstory's overall product strategy as we explore how this new domain connects with and strengthens our core offerings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of experience in product management, demonstrating both expertise and a history of rapid shipping.

• Experience in 0-to-1 product development, whether at a startup or by launching a new product line or business unit within a larger organization.

• Expertise in designing AI-native solutions: you prioritize agentic-first approaches, integrating models, tools, retrieval, and workflows into cohesive systems (not merely treating "LLM as a feature").

• Practical experience in deploying agentic AI products in production. You are adept with LLMs, evaluations, prompts, and navigating the complexities of transforming AI capabilities into dependable customer experiences, and you can converse about model behavior, evaluation, and trade-offs with engineers.

• A proven history of developing customer-facing products that users depend on daily.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills. You excel in clarifying ambiguity, making decisions transparent, and guiding teams and customers through transitions.

• A strong commitment to addressing the urgency of our climate crisis.

🏝️ Benefits

• Competitive, location-specific salary and benefits.

• A flexible, autonomous, and collaborative working environment grounded in trust - we organize our workdays around our lives, not the reverse.

• Home office stipend, coworking space, and budgets for ongoing education.

• A company culture that genuinely reflects our core values.

• The opportunity to engage in mission-driven work that mitigates wildfires, preserves the earth's natural resources, and contributes to solving our climate crisis.
