This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for a crucial product area, which may encompass fuel cost optimization, fleet efficiency, energy management, or operational cost intelligence.
• Convert Samsara's operational data (telematics, fuel consumption, idling, routing, vehicle health) into products designed to assist customers in reducing costs and enhancing fleet performance.
• Conduct thorough discovery sessions with individuals who face these challenges: fleet owners, fuel managers, operations leaders, and finance teams.
• Create prototypes and design MVPs independently - including clickable flows, working demonstrations, and rough cuts, often leveraging AI - to validate concepts with customers before allocating engineering resources.
• Deliver end-to-end experiences in collaboration with design, engineering, and data science - from backend pipelines and partner integrations to the dashboards and mobile interfaces that customers engage with daily.
• Establish success metrics, develop business cases for new initiatives, and maintain a continuous cycle of experimentation and iteration based on data and customer feedback.
• Advocate for, exemplify, and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we expand globally and open new offices.
• Over 5 years of experience in product management, with a proven history of delivering products utilized by actual customers at scale.
• You can showcase something you designed, prototyped, or built yourself, along with a cross-functional launch you led from start to finish; you embody both the creator and the operator.
• Proficient in data analysis: you know how to locate necessary information, create methods to measure untracked metrics, define key performance indicators, and collaborate effectively with data science.
• Strong instincts for customer research, consistently transforming insights into actionable strategies that lead to product launches.
• Exceptional communication skills; capable of aligning cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, marketing, legal, go-to-market) and clarifying complex trade-offs for varied audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
