This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of the design process for essential point-of-sale experiences — from defining problems to delivering polished, shipped products — while ensuring accountability for their quality and outcomes.

• Simplify complex flows: transform intricate, high-frequency merchant workflows into intuitive, swift, and confidence-inspiring interactions.

• Use real-world constraints as inspiration for creativity — collaborate closely with engineering to devise solutions that are both exceptional and practical within mature, large-scale systems.

• Base decisions on evidence: conduct your own research and testing with real merchants, ensuring that enhancements are grounded in actual user behavior rather than assumptions.

• Adopt a systems-thinking approach: enhance consistency across the broader point-of-sale portfolio, contributing patterns and improvements back to our collective design system.

• Amplify the team's capabilities: mentor fellow designers, elevate standards through constructive critique, and offer perspectives that enhance the work around you.

• Leverage AI in your design process — utilizing modern tools to explore, prototype, and validate more rapidly, while modeling innovative workflows for the team.

• Experience designing for established, large-scale products — with the discernment to determine when to simplify, modernize, or maintain existing designs.

• A history of collaborating with engineering to manage technical constraints while still delivering high-quality work.

• Proficiency in prototyping and research techniques to validate decisions and shape product direction.

• Regular use of AI tools in your design workflow, along with a curiosity about their evolving impact on the profession.

• Excellent communication abilities — capable of fostering alignment with cross-functional, global partners.
