This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Taking ownership of the strategy, roadmap, and advancement of Atlas across both web and mobile platforms, including tokens, components, patterns, and guidelines.
• Establishing and maintaining high standards for Atlas, ensuring quality in areas such as accessibility, brand fidelity, and craftsmanship through thorough reviews, audits, and a transparent contribution process.
• Designing Atlas's tokens and components for AI utilization as well as human interaction, including the organization, naming conventions, and linking back to Figma and code.
• Collaborating closely with engineering teams on the design-to-code pipeline, which encompasses tokens, component APIs, and workflows that help prevent drift over time.
• Promoting adoption through comprehensive documentation, office hours, collaborative work, and a robust contribution model that extends beyond a single owner.
• Shaping AI-assisted design workflows within the team, assessing new tools, and integrating those that significantly enhance quality and output.
• Providing mentorship to designers across the organization on systems thinking, accessibility, and AI proficiency, and raising the standard of craftsmanship throughout Super.com.
• Identifying and defining metrics that indicate the health of Atlas, including adoption rates, consistency, accessibility, and the time saved for product teams, and reporting on these metrics regularly.
• Over 7 years of product design experience delivering consumer products for both web and mobile, with a minimum of 3 years focused on building and scaling a design system.
• A proven history of guiding a design system through significant version changes or creating a 0-to-1 build, encompassing governance, tokens, component architecture, and adoption strategies.
• Strong foundation in product design with exceptional visual and interaction craftsmanship, and the ability to discern when to systematize a pattern and when to allow for flexibility.
• Proficiency in modern front-end concepts (tokens, components, states, responsive behavior) and the capability to collaborate closely with engineering on tradeoffs and APIs.
• An informed perspective on token architecture and component API design, including how these decisions evolve when AI agents interact with the system, alongside hands-on experience with AI tools such as Figma MCP, Cursor, or Claude in real-world applications.
• Experience in establishing accessibility standards and delivering accessible components that adhere to WCAG guidelines.
• Proven experience mentoring senior and mid-level designers, along with a track record of enhancing the skills of the team around you.
• Strong written communication skills and the ability to influence cross-functional teams, enabling alignment among designers, engineers, PMs, and leadership without relying on formal authority.
• Proficient in Figma, with fluency in documentation tools like Storybook, ZeroHeight, Supernova, Notion, or similar alternatives.
