Staff Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee extensive, complex initiatives that span various product areas, guiding them from problem identification to launch and subsequent iterations.

• Serve as a trendsetter, exhibiting sound judgment within the design landscape.

• Regularly connect and engage with key strategic customers.

• Integrate customer feedback and product analytics into product development decisions.

• Utilize AI tools throughout the design workflow and establish innovative working methods.

• Promote accessible design practices at Samsara.

• Keep abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and tools.

• Contribute positively to the community.

• Deploy code to production across the design system, web offerings, and mobile applications.

• Establish benchmarks for excellence through the development and deployment of high-quality work.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in product design, focusing on UX/UI for both web and mobile applications.

• Proven ability to lead projects that cover multiple product domains.

• A strong portfolio and/or case studies that demonstrate design expertise and measurable impact across various product areas or platform-wide systems.

• A portfolio is mandatory; applications lacking a portfolio will not be considered.

• Exceptional skills in both interaction and visual design.

• Ability to establish new design patterns for fellow designers and teams.

• Regular engagement with AI tools in design practices, including but not limited to Cursor and Figma Make.

• Experience in delivering work that can be attributed to AI tools.

• Background in mentoring designers, both formally and informally.

• Experience collaborating with senior management.
