Staff Product Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee numerous prominent design projects that align with Dropbox’s strategic AI initiatives.

• Provide visionary leadership while integrating design excellence, customer understanding, and innovation into strategic initiatives.

• Foster a team culture by exemplifying outstanding practices in strategy, interaction and visual design, prototyping, and storytelling.

• Identify high-level opportunities that can enhance user experience and drive business results.

• Offer clarity, insights, and strategic focus to navigate complex challenges.

• Manage strategic, design-focused projects from initial concept through to delivery.

• Champion and guide the team towards innovative, customer-centric outcomes.

• Collaborate with the wider design organization to uphold high standards of craftsmanship and usability.

• Streamline complex workflows and enhance user experiences for a diverse clientele.

• Contribute to shaping and executing a wider design strategy while influencing product direction.

• Work alongside Design, Product, and Engineering Leadership to align initiatives with overarching company objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in a senior Individual Contributor capacity.

• Demonstrated success in leading intricate design initiatives that result in simple and elegant solutions.

• A portfolio that highlights significant contributions to launched customer experiences, showcasing measurable impacts on business and customer satisfaction.

• Capability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and leadership teams.

• Proficiency in influencing design strategy and ensuring successful implementation.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong storytelling skills for effectively presenting and advocating design choices.

• Familiarity with generative AI for exploration and prototyping purposes.

• Preferred: experience in leading design efforts within remote or distributed team settings.

• Preferred: leadership experience in driving company-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing design quality, such as conducting prototyping workshops or mentoring designers.
