Staff Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Take charge of designing and owning the complete architecture of the company's platform infrastructure.

• Develop and sustain GraphQL gateways, API infrastructure, internal SDKs, and shared platform services.

• Oversee Kubernetes environments across AWS and GCP, focusing on networking, scaling, security, and upgrades.

• Create production-grade backend services, automation tools, shared libraries, and Infrastructure as Code utilizing Pulumi.

• Revitalize legacy systems through pragmatic refactoring and architectural enhancements.

• Establish observability, monitoring, incident response, and reliability systems throughout the platform.

• Apply security best practices encompassing zero-trust networking, secrets management, compliance, and auditability.

• Lead compliance efforts across HIPAA, LGPD, ISO 27001, and other regulatory standards.

• Promote AI-assisted engineering workflows in platform operations, incident response, code review, and automation.

• Guide engineers through technical leadership while actively contributing to projects.

• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering large-scale production platform architectures.

• Strong background in backend engineering with profound expertise in systems design.

• Significant hands-on experience with Kubernetes in live production settings.

• Solid practical knowledge of AWS and GCP.

• Proven track record of owning infrastructure from design to long-term operational success.

• Experience in modernizing and scaling legacy distributed systems.

• Comprehensive knowledge of observability, monitoring, reliability engineering, and incident response.

• Background in regulated environments such as HIPAA, LGPD, SOC2, GDPR, or ISO 27001.

• Strong coding abilities with enthusiasm for developing production systems over managing projects.

• AI-first approach with hands-on experience using AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.

• Experience in fast-paced startups or rapidly growing technology companies.

• Capability to excel in ambiguous environments with a strong inclination towards delivering results.
