Senior Staff Engineer, Internal Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hong Kong.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and drive the architecture and design for large-scale, intricate internal platform systems.

• Establish and influence the long-term technical roadmap, ensuring scalability and reliability on a global scale.

• Lead initiatives for platform modernization, focusing on architecture evolution, reduction of technical debt, and enhancements in reliability.

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, and Business stakeholders to create robust and scalable solutions.

• Advocate for the adoption of AI and intelligent automation to enhance operational efficiency at scale.

• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to senior engineers across various teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering, with in-depth expertise in Java and significant experience in large-scale distributed systems.

• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering, demonstrating a strong track record of technical leadership at scale.

• Proven hands-on architecture ownership in complex, cross-team platform delivery, from design through to production.

• Expert-level skills with technologies including: Kafka, RocketMQ, Redis, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Spring/Spring Boot.

• Excellent communication and influencing abilities — capable of aligning cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.

• Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential, as the team works closely with stakeholders across multiple regions.
