Principal Platform Developer, Trust Platform Integrations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Drive the technical vision and architecture for platform integrations throughout the development pipelines, ensuring that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and in alignment with organizational objectives.

• Create and enhance reusable platform capabilities and integration patterns that boost consistency and reliability across repositories and engineering workflows.

• Convert complex platform and integration requirements into practical, business-oriented technical solutions.

• Address highly complex, cross-functional engineering challenges by adopting a broad systems perspective and identifying pragmatic, scalable solutions.

• Collaborate with engineering, platform, and security teams to enhance the developer experience across CI/CD pipelines and internal tooling.

• Shape the technical roadmap by balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term considerations of maintainability, reliability, and scalability of the platform.

• Establish and advocate for engineering best practices, standards, and patterns for constructing and managing reliable platform integrations.

• Lead or play a significant role in major, cross-team technical initiatives within the Trust or Platform Engineering domains.

• Mentor senior and mid-level developers, elevating the technical standards through design reviews, architectural guidance, and technical leadership.

• Keep abreast of emerging industry practices related to platform engineering, CI/CD ecosystems, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent practical experience).

• Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience demonstrating technical leadership and influence beyond a single team.

• Extensive experience in designing and constructing scalable cloud-native systems using AWS.

• Advanced expertise in Python, with the capability to design, build, and evaluate production-grade systems.

• Proficient in designing and managing CI/CD platforms or developer tooling ecosystems utilizing technologies such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Strong understanding of containerized and cloud-native architectures, including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience in designing systems that emphasize reliability, observability, and operational excellence.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.

• Experience in Agile engineering environments.
