Senior Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Architect, construct, and sustain platform infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies with tools like Terraform.

• Create memory services, vector storage frameworks, and semantic search functionalities.

• Develop secure access protocols for agents to manage enterprise data, including Databricks, while incorporating guardrails for permitted tools and data sources.

• Manage and advance a Kubernetes-based platform for the Data & AI division, facilitating the deployment, management, and scaling of services in accordance with GitOps practices.

• Establish observability features that encompass agent execution, performance metrics, reliability, cost signals, and overall operational health.

• Work collaboratively with various engineering, DevOps/MLOps, SRE, security, and product teams to set platform standards and enhance developer self-service.

• Engage in architecture discussions, suggest enhancements, and promote the adoption of best practices in platform engineering.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies within the cloud-native, AI platform, and agentic AI landscape to continuously enhance the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience managing Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure in production environments or at scale.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform, along with automation, CI/CD, and GitOps delivery methods.

• Experience in creating reusable platform capabilities for engineering teams.

• Familiarity with agent frameworks such as LangGraph, OpenAI Agents SDK, AutoGen, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, or comparable technologies.

• Knowledge of RAG, vector search, embeddings, and knowledge retrieval systems.

• Experience in integrating with governed data or machine learning platforms; familiarity with Databricks is a significant advantage.

• Skilled in Python, Shell, and/or Go for scripting and automating infrastructure and workflows.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work autonomously and take initiative.

• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in English; German language skills are beneficial but not mandatory.
