This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver direct patient care by prescribing, developing, monitoring, and supporting treatment plans in adherence to relevant statutes, regulations, and protocols. (80%)
• Provide medication prescriptions aligned with treatment guidelines.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests, and communicate the results to patients.
• Educate patients about medications, including associated risks, benefits, and realistic outcome expectations.
• Maintain communication with patients and conduct necessary follow-ups.
• Refer patients with higher acuity to specialized care based on strict screening guidelines to guarantee quality care and optimal outcomes.
• Keep medical records and ensure high standards of clinical documentation.
• Offer medical care, patient education, and manage medication prescribing in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.
• Cover critical outreach shifts to provide support for remote monitoring up to three days a week (including two shift hours on weekends) and occasional one-hour shifts at either 7 am or 7 pm.
• Contact members identified by remote monitoring protocols and, if necessary, prescribe rescue medications or refer to community medicine/emergency services.
• Provide training, clinical oversight, and mentorship to NPs, PAs, and/or MAs. (20%)
• Assist in the interviewing and hiring process for new clinical staff.
• Develop and present training materials.
• Shadow front-line staff delivering patient care and offer clinical feedback.
• Conduct clinical audits and engage with staff in compliance with regulatory guidance.
• Be available for real-time mentorship and inquiries from clinical staff during working hours.
• Ensure adherence to Vida and client protocols and programs.
• MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license in 10-15+ states (If you are close to this requirement but don’t fully meet it, we encourage you to apply).
• Board certified in internal medicine or family medicine; other specialties may be considered, preferably those who have completed a full internal medicine residency.
• Must have or will obtain board certification in obesity management from the American Board of Obesity Medicine at the company's expense as soon as feasible.
• Experience in supervising and mentoring clinical staff.
• Preferred experience in treating CHF, COPD, Diabetes, and/or Obesity.
• Familiarity with working alongside patients, clients, and other clinical providers in an integrated environment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Previous experience with quality assurance and improvement practices is preferred.
• Proficiency with digital technology.
• Capability to work independently, with minimal supervision, while being accountable for specific goals and objectives.
• Exhibits problem-solving, leadership, conflict management, and team-building skills to foster a productive work environment and achieve objectives.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing, start-up environment.
