This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Taiwan.
• Design and develop new mechanical systems/modules while ensuring the maintenance of existing designs.
• Investigate mechanical concepts and devise system solutions utilizing 3D modeling and simulation software.
• Perform necessary calculations, conduct tests, validate, and qualify systems, making adjustments as required.
• Offer support throughout the manufacturing phase of the mechanical systems that have been designed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineers, customers, supply chain, and project leadership to guarantee robust and high-quality product development.
• Improve designs based on feedback from reviews focusing on areas such as manufacturing, testing, supply chain, reliability, industrial design, and simulations.
• Guide the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects spanning multiple domains.
• Engage in project planning and scheduling activities.
• Provide technical leadership and direction to a large team of engineers.
• Assess and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may serve as the primary point of contact for customers.
• Evaluate trade-offs in complex systems and suggest appropriate solutions.
• Formulate deployment strategies and plans.
• Oversee the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate efforts across the site.
• Potentially manage relationships with key vendors and partners.
• Prepare calculations for proposed solutions prior to completing technical drawings.
• Design, modify, and implement systems that satisfy both customer and Celestica requirements.
• Create designs in compliance with company procedures, regulations, and client standards.
• Submit drawings for review to management, engineering teams, and customers.
• Utilize customer feedback and data to enhance, improve, or repair existing company machinery.
• Finalize designs and provide prints to the production department.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.
• A minimum of 10+ years of direct experience in mechanical design, preferably in switches, servers, storage, etc.
• Knowledgeable in the electronic product development process.
• Capability to conceptualize, implement, and validate system-level designs and solutions.
• Understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, experience with plastic and metal part design, and awareness of tooling limitations.
• Experience with product architecture, including high-level thermal analysis, EMC/ESD compliance, structural layout, and validation test planning.
• Experience in design optimization using FEA and CFD analysis results (structure, kinematics, and heat) is a PLUS.
• Proficient in using CAD systems, specifically Pro/E Creo.
• Competent in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Fluent in both written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate in an international team setting.
• Strong teamwork attitude along with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Business travel opportunities available, including overseas travel.
