This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Exhibit advanced expertise in initial mapping and quality assurance processes across various coding sets, in line with nationally recognized coding standards.

• Assist in the scheduling of product releases, which includes troubleshooting mapping issues and engaging in intricate release-related responsibilities.

• Detect and apply enhancements in mapping quality and operational efficiency.

• Handle complex client inquiries and engage in interdisciplinary discussions.

• Offer mentorship and guidance to junior team members.

• Create clear editorial content with suitable examples while overseeing the editorial workflow.

• Participate in initiatives for tool enhancement and redesign.

• Develop and present interdepartmental training materials and presentations on topics related to mapping.

• Contribute to the documentation of processes and strategies for quality assurance.

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert on revenue cycle and health information management issues within a cross-functional team at IMO Health.


⛳️ Requirements

• Significant experience with US-based coding systems: ICD-10-CM/PCS, ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS.

• One of the following credentials is required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, or CPC.

• An associate or bachelor's degree in health information management systems or equivalent experience is preferred.

• At least five years of experience in medical records coding, electronic health records, and medical terminology.

• Required experience with claims edits, payer denials, and/or risk-adjustment coding.

• Demonstrated leadership experience, including mentoring colleagues and participating in cross-departmental initiatives.

• Strong conceptual and critical thinking abilities, with the capacity to lead discussions and offer insights into complex mapping situations.

• A forward-thinking approach, with the ability to recognize emerging trends and assist others in evaluating and mitigating risks.

• Proficient communication skills, adept at fostering mutual understanding and influencing colleagues across departments.

• Detail-oriented, process-focused, and dedicated to delivering high-quality outcomes.
