Staff Machine Learning Engineer, Notifications Relevance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Play a key role in enhancing Reddit's growth by developing and executing content discovery algorithms that ensure a seamless and highly personalized experience for users.

• Gain an in-depth understanding of the Reddit Notifications product and lead the vision for the notifications relevance team.

• Improve essential recommendation functionalities, such as candidate retrieval, ranking models, and budgeting optimization, while designing and testing new pipeline components. Additionally, you will deploy ML models, integrate LLMs, and maintain robust monitoring and smooth product integration throughout the process.

• Act as the primary expert in machine learning, deploying state-of-the-art models at scale, making architectural decisions, and ensuring effective monitoring and seamless product integration throughout the engineering organization.

• Collaborate with various teams, including ML, Product, Infrastructure, and Data Science at Reddit, to devise technical solutions for intricate challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of industry experience, with significant expertise in large-scale recommendation systems, preferably with a focus on notifications.

• Demonstrated capacity to identify critical opportunities, outline roadmaps, and facilitate scalable enhancements in notifications relevance.

• Extensive experience in building and deploying large-scale ML models using frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Experience working with LLMs in production and leveraging generative AI to enhance recommendation systems.

• Proficient in object-oriented programming, particularly in Python and Golang.

• Big Plus: experience with cutting-edge model architectures.

• Big Plus: experience in constructing production Agentic AI frameworks.
