Junior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Assist in the advancement of IDP (Intelligent Document Processing) solutions: Engage in the creation, training, and fine-tuning of models for extracting unstructured data from intricate documents.

• Shape the future of agentic AI: Aid in orchestrating workflows utilizing frameworks such as LangGraph, n8n, among others, linking document extraction to approval and formalization processes.

• Convert data into products: Utilize statistical methods and data analysis on the structured datasets generated by our IDPs, identifying patterns and insights that will evolve into new AI products for our clientele.

• Collaborate with technical, product, and commercial teams: Partner closely with Technical Leadership, Data Engineering, Product Managers, and the Front-end team to assess, support, and enhance the transition of proofs of concept (PoCs) into production solutions.

• Guarantee quality and monitoring: Assist in evaluating model outputs (LLMs, RAGs, and classical models), testing prompts, and documenting processes to ensure solutions are precise and scalable.

• Embrace learning and innovation: Keep abreast of the latest advancements in Generative AI, bringing curiosity, innovative ideas, and proactivity to address bottlenecks in our document pipeline.

⛳️ Requirements

• A completed degree or nearing completion in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Data Science, or related STEM disciplines.

• A solid understanding of statistics and programming logic (comprehending why to apply a technique, not just how to import a library).

• Proficiency in Python, particularly for data manipulation and API consumption.

• Practical experience with SQL for data extraction, joining, and analysis in relational databases.

• A strong desire to learn, resilience in overcoming errors during experiments, and excellent communication skills to seek assistance, clarify doubts, and articulate ideas effectively.

• Familiarity with AI tools: Regular use of applications such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot to enhance your development and learning workflow.

• Programming and analysis skills: Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch) and SQL (complex queries and data modeling).

• Generative AI and LLMs: A robust foundation in Prompt Engineering along with theoretical and practical knowledge of LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic) and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) architectures.

• Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Computer Vision: A fundamental understanding of the concepts behind text extraction and document classification.

• Applied statistics: Capability to analyze extensive volumes of structured data and apply multivariate analyses or hypothesis testing to derive business value.

• Orchestration logic: Comprehension of how APIs interact and the logic behind graph- or node-based workflows (preparing to work with Agents).
