This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of the complete execution of Machine Learning (ML) systems, encompassing data pipelines, training workflows, evaluation systems, inference architecture, and deployment.
• Refine and adjust models using cutting-edge techniques such as LoRA, QLoRA, SFT, DPO, and distillation.
• Design and manage scalable inference systems, ensuring a balance between latency, cost, and reliability.
• Create and sustain data systems that provide high-quality synthetic and real-world training data.
• Develop evaluation pipelines that assess performance, robustness, safety, and bias, collaborating with research leadership.
• Oversee production deployment, focusing on GPU optimization, memory efficiency, latency reduction, and scaling policies.
• Work closely with application engineering to seamlessly integrate Machine Learning (ML) systems into backend, mobile, and desktop products.
• Make practical trade-offs and implement improvements swiftly, gaining insights from actual usage.
• Operate within real production constraints, including latency, cost, reliability, and safety.
• Proven experience in developing or deploying real Machine Learning (ML) systems utilized by end-users, not merely demonstrations.
• Background in Artificial Intelligence (AI) is essential.
• Familiarity with large models and an understanding of their failure modes is required.
• Proficient in writing robust, production-quality code.
• You should be self-motivated, practical, and take complete ownership of results.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within small, high-trust teams are necessary.
