This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the creation of innovative statistical and machine learning techniques for detecting cancer signals within multi-modal genomic data.
• Develop interpretable, well-calibrated models that include uncertainty estimation and ensure reproducibility.
• Prototype, evaluate, and implement machine learning models utilizing scalable infrastructure.
• Take ownership of key technical deliverables and contribute to shaping the team's research agenda.
• Work collaboratively with molecular biologists and clinical experts on experimental designs and validation studies.
• Conduct code and design reviews across various projects.
• Translate intricate results for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentor junior scientists and foster a culture of scientific excellence.
• Doctorate in Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 6 to 12 years of experience following the completion of your PhD.
• Practical experience in developing innovative statistical and machine learning analysis methods tailored for complex biological data.
• Established history of innovation and technical leadership in intricate method development initiatives.
• Proficiency in deep learning and multimodal foundational models.
• Strong skills in Python and its scientific computing ecosystem.
• Commitment to scientific rigor throughout the research and development process.
• Willingness to teach and learn new computational techniques and biological concepts.
• Exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative mindset across teams.
• Preferred: Knowledge of DNA methylation and other forms of epigenomic data.
• Preferred: Experience with cell-free DNA and liquid biopsy samples.
• Preferred: Background in cancer genomics and diagnostics.
• Preferred: Practical experience with multimodal foundational models applied to biological datasets.
