This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Take ownership of the architecture, design, and advancement of our Kubernetes-based platform on AWS, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and operates with excellence.
• Develop, sustain, and enhance Kubernetes infrastructure by utilizing Infrastructure as Code (CDK), adhering to best practices and architectural standards.
• Serve as the technical guide and subject matter expert for Kubernetes architecture, working closely with the Architecture team to align high-level strategy with practical implementation, and providing engineering teams with clear patterns, reference architectures, and best-practice guidance.
• Lead technical decision-making across various teams, offering mentorship, conducting design reviews, and providing hands-on assistance to ensure platform consistency and quality.
• Proactively enhance the platform by identifying scaling challenges, reliability issues, or operational inefficiencies before they escalate.
• Design and implement secure, compliant, and highly observable Kubernetes environments, incorporating monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.
• Lead and facilitate the migration of non-cloud-native applications to the new infrastructure, evaluating readiness and applying best practices for scalability and maintainability.
• Advocate for automation and GitOps practices to minimize manual tasks, eliminate drift, and accelerate release velocity.
• Spearhead cross-team initiatives and influence technical direction beyond your immediate organization to promote the adoption of cloud-native best practices.
• Engage in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and root cause analysis.
• In-depth expertise in Kubernetes cluster architecture and operations, including the design and maintenance of multi-node clusters focused on performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Proficient in service mesh technologies for managing observability, security, and traffic routing, with experience in implementing auto-scaling, optimizing resource utilization, and planning rolling upgrades and disaster recovery scenarios with zero downtime.
• Strong knowledge and experience with AWS and EKS.
• Capability to evaluate application readiness and provide migration strategies for various application types while ensuring minimal disruption during transitions.
• An automation mindset with a commitment to identifying and automating repetitive tasks and manual processes.
• Familiarity with observability tools like DataDog to maintain high uptime and facilitate rapid issue resolution.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach and a proactive attitude.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across diverse stakeholder groups, with strong written and verbal proficiency in English.
• Proficient in utilizing AI tools and large language models to enhance platform engineering, automation, and operational efficiency.
