Staff iOS Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Design and develop the iOS interaction layer utilizing both React Native and Swift.

• Take charge of the App Store submission strategy, ensuring compliance with guidelines, managing TestFlight, and implementing phased rollouts for a regulated finance application.

• Create real-time trading interfaces that perform optimally under live market conditions.

• Develop native Swift modules where React Native falls short, including charts, performance-critical views, and platform integrations.

• Contribute to the native aspects of the design system component library.

• Implement authentication flows utilizing OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, passkeys, and Touch ID / Face ID through LocalAuthentication.

• Enhance app performance, focusing on cold starts, frame rates, and memory utilization.

• Support jurisdiction-aware gating, localization, and multi-market capabilities.

• Review customer-facing projects from internal and partner engineers to maintain high standards.

• Collaborate with the CPO, product engineering team, and platform partner engineers.

• Deliver the iOS experience through successful App Store submission and launch.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of professional iOS engineering experience with successful consumer app launches.

• Experience in navigating multiple apps through the App Store review process, particularly in finance, trading, or other sensitive categories.

• Proficient in Swift, including SwiftUI and UIKit.

• Proven experience with production-level React Native applications.

• Strong skills in performance optimization, including profiling, animation timing, list virtualization, and memory management.

• Familiarity with mobile design systems and component libraries.

• Available to begin immediately.

• Commitment to a full-time engagement.

• Preferred: Background in trading, fintech, or real-time consumer applications.

• Preferred: Experience with Keycloak or similar OIDC identity platforms, passkeys, and biometric authentication methods.

• Preferred: Knowledge of Live Activities, widgets, App Intents, or rich notifications.

• Preferred: Experience in real-time charting or data visualization.

• Preferred: Familiarity with AI-assisted development workflows.
