This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Plan, design, and execute environments for data center whitespace.
• Create whitespace layouts including the placement of racks, aisle configurations, equipment density, and airflow strategies.
• Work alongside electrical and mechanical engineering teams to incorporate power distribution and cooling infrastructure.
• Enhance designs for capacity, scalability, redundancy, airflow performance, and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with network and cloud teams on structured cabling, connectivity, and fiber management.
• Validate N+1 and 2N redundancy strategies in relation to SLA requirements.
• Ensure adherence to TIA-942, Uptime Institute guidelines, ASHRAE recommendations, relevant codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
• Produce CAD/BIM drawings, schematics, and 3D models.
• Develop capacity planning models for growth, utilization, and scaling of infrastructure.
• Maintain technical documentation for operations, maintenance, and audits.
• Assist in the construction, installation, commissioning, and deployment of new data center environments.
• Engage in design reviews, risk assessments, and site inspections.
• Offer technical guidance to internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
• Assess new technologies, modular designs, and adhere to industry best practices.
• Conduct post-occupancy evaluations and identify areas for improvement.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Data Center Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in data center design, ideally within cloud or hyperscale environments.
• Understanding of data center power distribution systems and UPS architectures.
• Familiarity with cooling systems and HVAC infrastructure.
• Experience in structured cabling systems and network connectivity design.
• Proven experience in whitespace layout optimization and equipment density planning.
• Proficient with CAD/BIM tools like AutoCAD, Revit, Visio, or similar platforms.
• Knowledgeable about industry standards including TIA-942, Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, and ANSI/BICSI.
• Ability to collaborate across engineering, infrastructure, and deployment teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel to data center sites as necessary.
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States.
