Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Create HVAC and mechanical systems tailored for commercial building initiatives.

• Conduct calculations for heating and cooling loads.

• Design and size ductwork as well as air distribution systems.

• Choose HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, exhaust fans, and associated apparatus.

• Develop mechanical plans, schedules, details, and construction documentation.

• Utilize AutoCAD and/or Revit for design development.

• Collaborate on mechanical designs with architectural, electrical, plumbing, structural, and fire protection disciplines.

• Aid in ensuring compliance with energy codes and mechanical codes.

• Address plan review comments, RFIs, submittals, and construction inquiries.

• Engage in site surveys of existing conditions as required.

• Provide support for renovation, tenant improvement, and new construction projects.

• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in the project.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is preferred for engineering candidates.

• Relevant experience in mechanical drafting/design may be accepted for Mechanical Designer candidates.

• Strong preference for candidates with commercial HVAC or MEP design experience.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; experience with Revit is advantageous.

• Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software such as Carrier HAP, Trane TRACE, or similar is preferred.

• Knowledge of IMC, IECC, ASHRAE standards, and relevant building codes is required.

• Capability to read and interpret architectural and engineering construction documents.

• Strong technical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Capacity to manage various projects and meet deadlines.

• EIT certification is a plus, though not mandatory.

• A PE license is an asset for experienced candidates but is not a requirement.
