Staff Implementation Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Taking full ownership of the end-to-end delivery for 2-3 of our most significant and strategic customer implementations, including the build, testing, and go-live phases.

• Leading cross-functional issue triage arising during implementations — transforming customer-facing challenges into clearly defined tickets, collaborating with Product and Engineering to identify root causes, and driving resolutions even when responsibilities are shared across multiple teams.

• Acting as a technical expert for the team's most complex challenges, collaborating on escalations and intricate integration tasks throughout the implementations. You excel at bringing clarity to uncertain situations.

• Enhancing implementation efficiency across the team — pinpointing bottlenecks and repetitive tasks, then devising processes, tools, and standards that enable everyone to deliver more effectively.

• Providing feedback from implementation experiences back into the product — highlighting recurring issues and feature deficiencies to Product and Engineering, and assisting in transforming implementation insights into product improvements.

• Nurturing the growth of teammates through mentorship and knowledge sharing.

• Being a knowledgeable resource on Clutch's platform capabilities and design patterns across various products (DAO, Lending, and more).

• Defining opportunities where AI can enhance the implementation team's capabilities, and assisting in the development of AI-enabled workflows and standards that the team will adopt. Avoiding one-off solutions and applying a systems thinking approach to delivery in the AI era.

• Clearly communicating plans, progress, and risks to both internal partners and senior customer stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in implementation, solutions/technical consulting, or a similar technical delivery role, preferably involving complex enterprise or SaaS implementations.

• A proven history of managing complex, high-stakes technical delivery from start to finish, covering architecture through to go-live.

• Comfort in navigating ambiguity — providing structure and a clear perspective on issues that cross Implementation, Product, and Engineering domains, including scenarios where ownership is not yet established.

• Experience in translating customer-reported issues into actionable, well-defined tasks for product and engineering teams, and driving those tasks to resolution across various teams.

• Experience in fostering team growth — mentoring peers, setting technical standards, and developing tools or processes that others adopt.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading meetings with senior customer stakeholders and collaborating effectively across functions.

• Ability to identify and communicate practical solutions to complex, ambiguous integration challenges.

• Background in Computer Science or equivalent strong technical training.

• Extensive experience with web API integration; familiarity with modern web frameworks (React, Node.js, etc.).

• Proven capability to swiftly learn new technologies and comprehend complex systems (APIs, databases, SDKs).

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and understanding code in multiple programming languages; working knowledge of Python, JSON, GitHub, and the terminal, with JavaScript/TypeScript as a bonus.

• A self-motivated individual who can navigate ambiguous, high-pressure problems and break them down into a clear path forward.

• Excellent time management skills to simultaneously manage multiple large external customers.

• A passion for collaborating with people — able to convey complex technical issues in an accessible manner for nearly anyone to understand.
