This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Ensure the provision of high-quality spring water collected in accordance with FDA/IBWA standards.
• Keep up-to-date and accessible information regarding spring sources utilized by Niagara.
• Oversee the assessment and qualification of new spring and water well sources for expansion and backup facilities.
• Act as the main point of contact and liaison for spring source owners.
• Maintain regular communication with spring owners and cultivate professional working relationships.
• Conduct audits of spring sources to verify compliance with Niagara’s operational requirements.
• Monitor the quality of spring source water and observe changes or trends over time.
• Track permits for spring sources, including expirations and renewals.
• Develop and sustain databases and documentation supporting spring source SOI, hydrogeology, engineering, and permits.
• Provide technical assistance to spring owners who are upgrading or modifying their facilities.
• Stay informed on regulatory changes related to spring sources.
• Monitor land-use practices and potential contaminant threats near spring sources.
• Represent Niagara at regulatory and community meetings as needed.
• Collaborate on spring improvement projects under cost-recovery agreements with spring owners and the Procurement team.
• Identify and assess spring sources close to proposed expansion sites.
• Evaluate the technical merits and feasibility of potential spring sources.
• Assist in developing layouts and designs for spring site development.
• Prepare cost estimates for improvements required to activate prospective springs.
• Offer technical support to Niagara's Contracts Team.
• Seek and foster opportunities for Niagara-owned spring sources.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive database for each spring source.
• Maintain water-quality databases and supply statistics and trend graphs as necessary.
• Oversee groundwater well siting, design, permitting, drilling, installation, testing, and maintenance.
• Conduct aquifer testing and water-quality sampling.
• Prepare documentation and reports as needed.
• Assist Niagara's Consumer Affairs Team by providing information to address customer inquiries.
• Meet with customers and deliver presentations regarding the quality and integrity of spring sources.
• Supervise Geologist I and II positions as required.
• Bachelor's Degree (BS) in Geological Science or a related discipline is mandatory.
• A Licensed Professional Geologist (National Association of State Boards of Geology) is required.
• A minimum of 6+ years of experience in spring site evaluation, development, and permitting is essential.
• At least 6 years of experience in the field or a similar manufacturing environment is required.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in the role is needed.
• At least 4 years of experience in managing people or projects is required.
• Strong understanding of federal and state-specific regulations regarding spring sources and wells is essential.
• Exceptional written and spoken communication skills are necessary.
• Willingness to travel at least 75% of the time; average travel is approximately 3 weeks each month.
• Capability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.
• Ability to walk and hike over uneven terrain for extended periods is essential.
• Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons and various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
• A Master's Degree (MS) in Geological Science or a related field is preferred.
• Over 10 years of experience in the field or a similar manufacturing environment is preferred.
• More than 10 years of experience in the position is preferred.
• At least 6 years of experience in managing people or projects is preferred.
