Staff Fullstack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

• Develop and construct essential fullstack systems that drive Surge’s platform.

• Take charge of frontend product choices and backend architecture for impactful workflows.

• Create scalable systems for data collection, annotation, and assessment.

• Design fast, reliable, and user-friendly tools utilized by premier AI laboratories worldwide.

• Assume responsibility from concept to deployment, rapidly iterating while upholding high quality standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in developing and delivering production software.

• Proven track record of leading projects with substantial scope and uncertainty.

• Strong fullstack expertise in building and maintaining applications using React/TypeScript along with Python or Ruby on Rails.

• Product-oriented mindset: you are passionate about usability, performance, and maintainability, and you deliver features that address real-world challenges.

• Self-motivated individual: you excel in a small team setting and take charge from concept to execution.

• Outstanding communication abilities: you can articulate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to fellow senior engineers.

• Experience in startups (preferably as an early-stage engineer or founder).

• Computer Science degree from a prestigious institution or equivalent STEM background.
