Staff Frontend Engineer

Posted May 23

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the frontend architectural direction, pinpoint structural challenges, lead refactoring efforts, and create patterns for the entire team to follow.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers from the outset: define requirements, challenge project scope, highlight constraints early, and ensure technical choices are aligned with user needs.

• Partner with Product Designers to effectively connect design intentions with technical execution, advocating for quality, consistency, and a positive user experience throughout.

• Enhance product performance by focusing on Core Web Vitals, optimizing rendering efficiency, and improving bundle sizes.

• Develop and maintain our design system and component library, serving as a common foundation for both Engineering and Design teams.

• Lead technical initiatives across teams and unify engineering and product stakeholders around common objectives.

• Provide mentorship to frontend engineers through design reviews, pair programming, and direct feedback.

• Contribute to the technical roadmap and assist engineering leadership in making informed trade-offs.

• Advocate for best practices in testing, observability, CI/CD, and frontend reliability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive expertise in Vue.js and the contemporary frontend ecosystem, with a proven history of leading architectural decisions at scale, enhancing code quality across teams.

• Strong knowledge of GraphQL: proficient with Apollo Client, queries, mutations, subscriptions, and working within a GraphQL-first data architecture, including communication with services via gRPC.

• Master AI tools and drive their integration across the team to enhance both engineering speed and quality.

• Experience working closely with Product and Design teams, rather than merely alongside them.

• Possess a product-oriented mindset with a high degree of agency: engage with user feedback, ask "why", and ensure that technical outcomes address genuine problems without waiting for direction.

• Solid background in performance engineering: measuring, diagnosing, and enhancing performance.

• Experience building and maintaining design systems or component libraries, ideally in collaboration with a Design team.

• Strong communication skills, capable of discussing technical trade-offs with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

• Nice to have: Experience in a remote-first, distributed engineering setting.

• Acquainted with monitoring, SLOs, and frontend observability practices.

• Previous experience with developer experience tools or CI/CD pipelines.
