This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Take ownership of the software design and technology for a specific area within Labyrinth Screening.
• Collaborate with various engineering teams, technology and product leaders, as well as customers to define requirements, design, and deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Integrate engineering principles and methodologies into organizational decision-making, incorporating problem definition, solution development, and quality assurance into business outcomes.
• Contribute to the establishment of standards, design patterns, and technology strategies across technical teams.
• Ensure the consistent application of architectural decisions and guidelines across Ripjar’s software offerings.
• Scale the Labyrinth Screening SaaS platform to accommodate more companies, data feeds, data items, and users.
• Direct technical decisions, oversee supported teams, and help shape the comprehensive technology roadmap.
• Design and deliver scalable cloud-based and on-premise software while clearly articulating designs and trade-offs.
• Inspire engineering teams to embrace new ideas and practices.
• Extensive and diverse experience in software development and design as both an engineer and technical leader.
• Experience with big data or large-scale data processing systems.
• Solid understanding and practical experience of software design patterns, industry best practices, and architectural design.
• Proven expertise in deploying software in production environments.
• Background in designing distributed systems that manage substantial data and/or workloads.
• Ability to navigate complex scenarios, address uncertainty and ambiguity, and articulate the architecture of complex systems.
• Demonstrated capability to lead, mentor, and engage broader technical teams to foster internal growth and career development.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills tailored to various audiences.
• Proficiency in software engineering.
• Strong working knowledge of one or more technologies, including JavaScript, ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, MongoDB, Apache Kafka, EKS, and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with microservices architectures.
• Notable experience in SaaS-platform scaling is highly desirable, particularly in evolving and enhancing system architecture.
