Staff Engineer – Fraud Prevention

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Serve as the primary technical authority for various teams, collaborating with stakeholders to synchronize platform strategy.

• Design, architect, and enhance ultra-low-latency backend services along with a high-throughput rules engine.

• Create efficient data access patterns, partitioning strategies, and caching layers throughout our intricate, multi-cloud database environment.

• Build resilient pipelines for executing massive parallel real-time feature computations and aggregations.

• Contribute significantly to the development of engineering culture, mentoring senior engineers, and promoting high technical standards from inception to delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience, demonstrating a successful history in roles such as Staff, Principal, or Lead Architect.

• Extensive knowledge in constructing highly available, distributed systems that adhere to strict ultra-low latency requirements.

• Practical experience with stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink, SQS, PubSub) in production settings.

• Advanced skills in polyglot persistence, including experience in optimizing data models across Document, Wide-Column, and Relational databases.

• A strong platform engineering perspective centered on reliability, observability, and enhancing developer velocity.

• Ability to articulate complex architectural ideas and foster consensus across teams.
