This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
β’ Establishing and leading the front-end technical strategy for the Account Experience teams, encompassing architecture and component-system decisions, as well as hands-on implementation where it matters most.
β’ Taking ownership of the architecture for a complex, data-intensive merchant platform β including the patterns, state management, and performance characteristics that remain robust as the surface area expands.
β’ Influencing the evolution of Primer AI Companion into a premier merchant interface, focusing on the front-end architecture that ensures a conversational surface feels integrated within the platform.
β’ Maintaining a coherent user experience across Account Setup, Monitors, Workflows, and Auditing β constructing the shared component and design-system foundations that prevent these areas from diverging.
β’ Guiding engineers across teams without direct authority through code and design reviews, as well as providing technical mentorship that elevates the front-end standards around you.
β’ Taking responsibility for aspects often overlooked: prioritizing accessibility, performance budgets, and front-end observability as primary concerns rather than afterthoughts.
β’ Collaborating with Product and Design, along with backend engineers across teams, to influence decisions where front-end limitations or opportunities are significant.
β’ Proven experience operating at the staff or principal level: directing front-end technical strategy across multiple teams, not limited to a single team.
β’ Extensive front-end engineering expertise with TypeScript and React, along with a history of architecting complex, long-lasting web applications.
β’ Genuine proficiency in the factors that differentiate good front-end from exceptional: state management at scale, performance, accessibility, and component-system design.
β’ The type of judgment that quickly earns trust β engineers follow your technical guidance because of your expertise, not merely due to your title.
β’ Sufficient comfort across the technology stack to understand the APIs and services your front-end relies on, and to collaborate with backend engineers as equals.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to make complex technical decisions understandable to Product, Design, and non-technical stakeholders.
β’ Experience in payments, fintech, or platform environments is desirable, although depth of engineering experience is prioritized over industry specifics.

β’ Workations & Company Retreat
β’ Top-of-the-line equipment for your role
