📋 Description

• Perform technical evaluations of certification projects.

• Take the lead on quality assessments in the explosive atmosphere sector as an independent contributor.

• Execute QAN/QAR audits to confirm manufacturer and factory adherence to EN/ISO/IEC 80079-34, IECEx 02, ISO 9001:2015, and other pertinent standards.

• Assess client QAN/QAR submissions for thoroughness prior to formal audits.

• Develop audit schedules, agendas, checklists, and accompanying materials.

• Generate audit reports and technical documentation that support certification decisions.

• Record audit findings and non-conformance reports (NCRs) in QAN/QAR audit documentation.

• Analyze client NCR responses and validate the effectiveness of corrective actions.

• Prepare QAN and QAR certificates in compliance with IECEx and ATEX standards.

• Collaborate with audit, inspection, and operations teams to coordinate annual QAN/QAR audit schedules.

• Conduct peer evaluations of audit reports.

• Ensure audit traceability and secure supporting evidence.

• Manage the suspension, cancellation, and reinstatement of authorized manufacturers and factories based on audit results.

• Carry out specialized audits and surveillance inspections, including KOSHA, KGS, and INMETRO.

• Review NRTL IECEx and ATEX projects for intrinsic safety, non-incendive, optical radiation, and other protection methods.

• Provide insights on Ex projects managed by affiliate network engineers.

• Communicate findings and project updates with SGS Certification, Quality, and Management teams.

• Engage in external audits conducted by national and international accreditation bodies.

• Track recurring issues and trends to facilitate continuous improvement.

• Stay updated on internal policies, international standards, and changes in industry quality requirements.

• Undertake additional responsibilities to support the Hazardous Location certification team.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Computer Science (BSCS), or a related field.

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience with NRTL, IECEx, or ATEX manufacturers, or Hazardous location conformity assessment bodies (Mandatory).

• An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

• ISO 9001:2015 lead auditor certification from an IRCA or an equivalent accredited coursework provider is preferred.

• Authorization as an IECEx Quality Assessment Report (QAR) auditor is preferred.

• Previous experience in conducting or participating in internal and external audits is preferred.

• Prior experience in reviewing IECEx and ATEX technical reports (ExTRs) is preferred.

• Familiarity with NRTL, ATEX, and IECEx regulatory requirements.

• Understanding of ISO 9001:2015 or equivalent quality management system/standard requirements.

• Knowledge of Ex protection methods and inspection techniques relevant to facilities.

• Acquainted with EN/ISO/IEC 80079-34 requirements.

• Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.

• Strong analytical and diagnostic capabilities with exceptional attention to detail.

• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.

• High accuracy level and effective presentation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal abilities, strong team spirit, and adaptability.

• Capacity to communicate effectively with international SGS personnel and clients.

• Proficient in Excel and Office 365 applications.

• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time, including occasional international travel.
