Staff Engineer, AI Operations – Governance, Workplace AI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the daily configuration of AI platforms and orchestration tools.

• Create, configure, and support connectors and extensions for SaaS systems, data sources, and workflow tools.

• Establish and oversee logging, metrics, and alerting systems for AI workflows and tools.

• Implement secure storage and rotation protocols for API keys, tokens, and credentials.

• Oversee access control configurations and collaborate with Security/IT on reviews and remediation efforts.

• Execute model swaps, policy updates, prompt modifications, version upgrades, and production rollout strategies.

• Maintain comprehensive records of changes and rollback procedures.

• Conduct experiments and benchmarks on models, tools, and configurations.

• Convert logs, metrics, and incidents into narratives regarding risk, reliability, and compliance.

• Co-author operational playbooks, runbooks, and training documentation.

• Engage in training sessions or office hours.

• Triage, investigate, mitigate, resolve, and document AI-related incidents and production challenges.

• Report directly to the Head of AI Operations & Governance (Enterprise AI).

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–7+ years of experience in roles such as platform engineer, DevOps/SRE, ML/AI operations, or technical SaaS operations, with direct responsibility for production systems.

• Proficient understanding of APIs, integrations, and infrastructure-as-code concepts.

• Capability to work within code/JSON/YAML configuration settings and automation environments.

• Practical experience with monitoring and observability tools, including logs, metrics, and alerts.

• Hands-on experience with at least one type of AI or automation platform.

• Familiarity with secure secrets management and access control methodologies.

• Ability to clearly document technical work and decisions for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Preferred experience in ML/AI operations.

• Familiarity with prompt engineering, policies/guardrails, and LLM configuration patterns is preferred.

• Exposure to governance, compliance, or risk management frameworks is preferred.

• Experience collaborating with Security, Legal, and business stakeholders is preferred.

• Previous involvement in incident response, change management, or on-call rotations is preferred.
