Staff Database Reliability Engineer, PostgreSQL, Cloud

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Ensure the reliability, performance, scalability, and operational excellence of our multi-cloud Database as a Service (DBaaS) platform across AWS, Azure, and GCP.

• Implement operational standards, automation frameworks, and reliability engineering practices across diverse cloud environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• 6-8 years of experience in Database Administration (DBA) or Platform Engineering.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience with PostgreSQL.

• Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment.

• Database Administration (DBA) Skills—Primary Database: PostgreSQL; Secondary Databases: MySQL, SQL Server; Expertise in Database Backup & Recovery; Performance Tuning; Database Security.

• Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (DBaaS)—Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP; Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes; Familiarity with Observability Tools: ELK stack; Database Migration; Database Scaling.

• Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles—Incident Management; Monitoring and Alerting; Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs); Disaster Recovery Planning.

• Proficiency in Scripting and Automation—Scripting Languages: Python, Shell scripting, Bash, PowerShell; Automation Tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef.

• Knowledge of Networking and Infrastructure—Basics of Networking, Database Connectivity, Storage, and Disk Management.

• Expertise in Linux Operating Systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)—Familiarity with file systems, permissions, and ownership; Proficiency in monitoring tools; Understanding of resource limitations.
