Staff Data Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Create and develop new resilient batch and real-time data pipelines that support essential products and foster rapid business growth.

• Construct data pipelines to assist in the transition from current disparate data models and sources to new data models and databases in production.

• Advocate for data reliability and performance by implementing proactive monitoring along with quality-first engineering practices.

• Enhance data models to facilitate quick and efficient decision-making across high-impact product and business scenarios.

• Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and data science teams to swiftly convert evolving business requirements into scalable, production-ready data solutions.

• Influence the future of data engineering at scale by helping define the long-term roadmap and establishing best practices as we expand.

• Mentor and elevate team members, promoting a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.

• Exhibit strong self-direction and excel in ambiguous environments, making sensible decisions even when clear solutions are not immediately evident.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of relevant industry experience.

• Skilled in Java, Scala, or Python, with extensive knowledge in data processing technologies and writing complex SQL queries.

• Demonstrated history of driving innovation within highly technical, distributed teams. You have successfully completed complex projects and are driven by solving significant problems while enhancing user experience.

• Proven experience in designing, building, and managing robust distributed data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Spark, Flink, Kafka) and handling large datasets.

• Solid experience in building, productionalizing, and optimizing both real-time and batch data pipelines.
