Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

• As EcoVadis advances its business and broadens its product offerings, we are integrating AI more comprehensively into our operations.

• The Enterprise Data Architect is pivotal in supporting our growth.

• This role exists at the crossroads of business, data, and technology.

• You will connect business strategy with technology strategy, serving as the technical "North Star" to transform our Data Platform into a high-performance data mesh ecosystem.

• You will address the evolving requirements of Generative AI, AI Agent consumption, LLM orchestration, and real-time MLOps, bridging the gap between traditional data modeling and these new needs.

• You will oversee the Data Strategy from an architectural perspective, collaborating with various teams such as Analytics, BI, Data Engineering, Data Governance, Engineering, and AI/ML teams to ensure our ecosystem is scalable, resilient, and AI-enabled.

• Work together with Data Governance and AI teams to continuously enhance architecture governance practices.

• Serve as a hands-on mentor to the Data Engineering and Analytics teams, providing guidance on daily data modeling patterns, best practices, and execution decisions.

• Promote continuous improvement and facilitate the adoption of new data tools and methodologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong knowledge of data platforms overall, including data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, BI tools, and embedded analytics solutions.

• Expertise in multi-domain analytical architectures such as data mesh, medallion architecture, and self-service analytics & BI.

• Direct experience with Databricks is essential.

• Proficient in enterprise data model design, familiar with various data modeling patterns, data engineering practices, and data management standards such as DAMA.

• At least 5 years of experience focused on architecture in areas like data architecture, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.

• Comprehensive understanding of the technical elements of data integration, including data catalogs, data quality, solution maintainability, performance, and security.

• Practical experience with concepts like MDM, RDM, CDP, ETL, ELT, rETL, SQL, noSQL, and near-real-time analytics.

• An approach that encompasses not just the technical components of architecture but also includes people, processes, and technology as a cohesive unit.

• Experience across all SDLC phases—from establishing vision and strategy, through solution design, vendor selection in some projects, technical design, leading workshops, assisting implementation teams, troubleshooting issues, and promoting solution adoption.

• Strong stakeholder management capabilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and facilitation abilities.

• A pragmatic viewpoint on governance and application portfolio rationalization.

• Knowledge of data compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, SOX) and ethical considerations in data use and AI/ML model deployment.

• A team-oriented mindset paired with a high degree of self-organization.

• Ability to mentor and guide teams, nurturing a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CDMP/DAMA, TOGAF, CIPP) would be advantageous.
