This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Act as a pivotal thought leader within the Computational Science team, spearheading the analysis and interpretation of molecular signatures related to cancer while remaining up-to-date with advancements in the field.
β’ Direct and actively participate in the creation of models that define biological transformations associated with cancer.
β’ Conduct thorough computational analyses on data derived from top-tier molecular assays, including whole genome sequencing, whole genome bisulfite sequencing, targeted sequencing, RNA sequencing, and protein quantification.
β’ Develop innovative statistical models to evaluate, characterize, and analyze these data types in the context of cancer biology and its progression.
β’ Pinpoint research hypotheses and areas for model enhancement; plan, scope, and execute relevant research projects alongside a skilled team of computational biologists.
β’ Address intricate analytical challenges related to the investigation of cell-free circulating nucleic acids and proteins.
β’ Collaborate closely with molecular biologists to enhance wet lab experiments, and with development scientists to translate research models into marketable products.
β’ Foster the professional growth and career advancement of talented, cross-functional computational biologists within your team.
β’ PhD or equivalent experience in a pertinent quantitative field (e.g., computational biology, cancer biology, statistics, bioinformatics).
β’ Minimum of 8 years of post-PhD experience utilizing computational techniques for biological discovery and product development, ideally within the cancer or diagnostics sectors in an industrial environment.
β’ Profound knowledge of cancer and molecular biology, demonstrating the ability to apply this expertise to tackle computational biology and diagnostics challenges in cancer.
β’ Significant experience in data analysis and model development for high-throughput, quantitative technologies in genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, and proteomics (e.g., Methyl-seq, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, Hi-C, immunodetection assays).
β’ Strong computational and programming proficiency, with extensive experience in Python statistical packages (Numpy, Matplotlib, Pandas) and modeling libraries (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch), or comparable tools in languages such as R or C/C++.
