Staff Cloud Platform Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of delivering platform solutions across various teams and systems, ensuring alignment of technical direction with business objectives and customer impact.

• Spearhead the standardization of cloud platform patterns and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), implementing reviews, reusable modules, and testing procedures.

• Lead the implementation and integration of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) across multiple teams.

• Design scalable architectures that span multiple regions and develop resilient global networking patterns.

• Integrate security and compliance by design throughout infrastructure and delivery tools.

• Drive the strategy for telemetry and observability, establishing meaningful Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and actionable alerts.

• Influence cost planning and establish guardrails through tagging, monitoring, and automation.

• Mentor and coach engineers while providing technical leadership.

• Facilitate communication across engineering teams and stakeholders, influencing decisions and resolving conflicts between teams.

• Enhance the reliability, security, and scalability of Nextech’s specialty healthcare technology products.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years in software and/or infrastructure engineering roles.

• At least 5 years of experience in Cloud/DevOps or platform-focused engineering.

• Proficient in Azure or AWS platforms.

• Proven capability to provide technical direction to engineers and lead delivery across teams in uncertain environments.

• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation/scripting.

• Expertise in secure CI/CD platforms and delivery tools.

• Demonstrated experience in leading designs for high availability/disaster recovery, hybrid networking, and secure cloud baselines across teams.

• Familiarity with Agile practices and version control systems.

• Willingness to travel long distances or by air as necessary, not exceeding 10% travel.

• Availability for on-call support outside of regular business hours is required.
