Staff Business Intelligence Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of Twilio's collection of business intelligence tools, enhancing governance, performance, and strategic roadmap decisions.

• Design and develop scalable, reusable dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights for stakeholders across legal, billing operations, and other essential business functions.

• Architect and implement agentic AI solutions that facilitate natural language querying, automated insight generation, and self-service analytics for non-technical business partners.

• Collaborate with data engineers, business partners, and AI/ML engineers to convert complex analytical requirements into dependable, well-documented data products.

• Establish and promote best practices in BI, including semantic layer design, metric definitions, data access governance, and documentation standards.

• Work alongside business leaders to pinpoint opportunities where improved data visibility can lead to significant outcomes and prioritize initiatives accordingly.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related discipline, with a minimum of 2 years in a staff or senior individual contributor capacity.

• Demonstrated experience in managing and administering enterprise BI platforms such as Tableau, Looker, Superset, or similar tools.

• Proficient SQL skills and experience with data modeling in contemporary data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Athena, etc.).

• Proven history of delivering self-service analytics capabilities that minimize reliance on centralized data teams.

• Experience collaborating directly with business stakeholders to articulate requirements and translate them into scalable data products.

• Familiarity with dbt or similar semantic/transformation layers is preferred.

• Knowledge of Python for analytics automation or data pipeline tasks is preferred.

• Experience with LLMs, AI agents, or other AI technologies applied in analytics scenarios is preferred.

• Understanding of data governance frameworks and best practices for access control is preferred.
