Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Bulgaria.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the complete BI delivery process (requirements gathering, modeling, and reporting) to achieve prioritized business objectives.

• Establish and uphold KPI/metric definitions, lineage, and reporting standards to ensure stakeholders have confidence in the data.

• Create scalable semantic models and datasets that facilitate self-service dashboards and ad-hoc analysis in Power BI.

• Enhance data quality and reliability through validation, monitoring, incident resolution, and comprehensive runbooks.

• Lead and mentor a team of 2 direct reports, focusing on prioritization, coaching, performance management, and support for hiring and onboarding.

• Propel modernization and the adoption of Microsoft Fabric, balancing speed of delivery with reliability and operational excellence.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years in BI/analytics engineering, including experience in people management.

• Strong business acumen and effective stakeholder communication skills—capable of converting requirements into scalable, well-documented solutions.

• Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL) and the Microsoft BI stack: SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS (Tabular/Multidimensional), SSRS/Power BI Report Server, Power BI.

• Experience in data warehouse/mart design, ETL/ELT processes, and semantic modeling; familiarity with Microsoft Fabric is advantageous.

• An agile delivery approach with strong planning and prioritization skills, analytical problem-solving capabilities, and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication and facilitation skills; proficiency in English (Upper-Intermediate) or higher.

• Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Factory, semantic models) and governance in adoption is a plus.

• Experience with AI-assisted automation for BI/data tasks (testing, documentation, or pipeline scripting) is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD for BI/data and scripting/automation tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, VS Code) is advantageous.
