Staff Backend Software Engineer – Agent Platform, Java

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, implement, test, document, and manage large-scale, high-volume, low-latency applications that process several million events per second.

• Convert business and functional requirements into robust, scalable, and operable solutions that fit within the overall data architecture.

• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams at SentinelOne to grasp requirements and provide scalable solutions.

• Monitor essential metrics and enhance the codebase to ensure application stability and data integrity.

• Maintain the current codebase through refactoring, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.

• Acquire and utilize new technologies to tackle challenges associated with high-volume data.

• Develop the agent platform protocol for SentinelOne teams to securely and swiftly deliver security and detection capabilities.

• Guarantee the reliability, scalability, and observability of the production agent fleet.

• Create backend components utilizing Java, Go, and Python; integrate microservices using gRPC, REST, GraphQL, and Kafka.

• Employ Redis, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, ClickHouse, a columnar time-series database, AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, and ArgoCD.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8 years of professional backend development experience in Java and/or Golang; knowledge of Python is a plus.

• Ability to rapidly comprehend new products and their mechanisms.

• Background in designing large-scale, high-load distributed systems and enhancing their performance.

• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, and/or other cloud platforms.

• Proficiency in Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.

• Experience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction and mentor peers.

• Experience within an enterprise SaaS or cybersecurity software company is highly preferred.
