Staff Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design and implementation of AI-driven product features from concept to deployment.

• Develop LLM-based systems that provide coaching insights and real-time recommendations during calls.

• Design systems that ensure low latency and accommodate large-scale AI applications.

• Establish and apply AI and ML best practices throughout the engineering organization.

• Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to pinpoint high-impact AI opportunities.

• Create scalable data and feature pipelines to facilitate AI applications.

• Set up evaluation, monitoring, and feedback mechanisms to enhance model performance.

• Guide engineers and elevate the standards of applied AI engineering practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of software engineering experience with a solid background in AI and ML.

• Demonstrated success in deploying AI and ML systems in production environments.

• Experience in constructing and deploying ML pipelines for training, inference, monitoring, and ongoing enhancement.

• Extensive knowledge of LLMs and contemporary AI tools, including prompting, RAG, embeddings, and agents.

• Experience in training and fine-tuning models for specific domain applications.

• Strong skills in system design, capable of developing scalable and reliable AI systems.

• Familiarity with large-scale data systems such as pipelines, warehouses, or streaming services.

• Ability to navigate uncertainty and independently guide technical direction.

• A robust product-focused mindset with an emphasis on customer impact.

• Experience with real-time or event-driven system architectures.

• Knowledge in speech, NLP, or conversational AI domains.

• Proven experience in creating customer-facing AI products.

• Familiarity with modern data platforms like BigQuery or ClickHouse.

• Experience in building AI systems on scalable data platforms.
