This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Oversee the long-term architecture and development of Cribl's analytics engineering platform.

• Design, construct, and uphold certified dbt models as the definitive source for essential business metrics.

• Set and uphold analytics engineering standards for modeling, testing, documentation, and code reviews.

• Create and sustain semantic and metadata layers that facilitate reliable AI-driven analytics and self-service capabilities.

• Collaborate with analysts to transition high-value business logic from Omni into governed warehouse models.

• Work alongside Data Engineering to enhance source reliability, warehouse architecture, and the performance and cost efficiency of Snowflake.

• Mentor analysts and analytics engineers in dbt development, data modeling, and best practices in analytics engineering.

• Work may take place across various time zones.


⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related technical discipline.

• At least 3 years of practical experience operating dbt in a production setting.

• Advanced proficiency in SQL.

• Extensive knowledge of modern analytics engineering methodologies, including version control, testing, CI/CD, documentation, data contracts, lineage, and governance.

• Experience in designing reusable semantic models, certified metrics, and warehouse architectures that support self-service analytics.

• Strong grasp of Snowflake performance optimization and contemporary cloud data warehouse architecture.

• Proven capability to establish technical standards, influence engineering practices informally, and enhance platform reliability while minimizing technical debt.

• Familiarity with semantic layers, metadata management, or AI-driven analytics platforms.

• Demonstrated ability to closely collaborate with analysts to convert business requirements into scalable and maintainable warehouse models.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts and trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
