📋 Description

• Take ownership of the vision, roadmap, and implementation for 1Password’s analytics engineering division.

• Lead the development of core data models, semantic layers, BI tools, and pipeline infrastructure.

• Recruit, manage, and nurture analytics engineers.

• Create career paths, establish leveling expectations, and implement performance practices.

• Set benchmarks for data modeling, testing, documentation, code reviews, deployment, and data quality.

• Analyze complex dbt models and enhance SQL performance.

• Assist in resolving critical pipeline issues.

• Act as a senior technical collaborator on data modeling and metric governance.

• Ensure that metric definitions are consistent, reliable, and thoroughly documented.

• Collaborate with leaders in Data Engineering, Analytics, Finance, Marketing, Product, and GTM.

• Translate business requirements into a prioritized roadmap.

• Establish governed, trustworthy data foundations that support company-wide decision-making, AI initiatives, and Generative BI experiences.

• Report directly to the VP of Data Analytics.


⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture.

• Proven experience in leading and developing teams.

• Proficient in SQL and dbt.

• Advanced skills in data modeling, incremental processing, testing, documentation, and multi-environment deployment.

• In-depth understanding of dimensional modeling, including Kimball or star schema methodologies.

• Experience applying dimensional modeling in intricate B2B SaaS settings.

• Familiarity with contemporary cloud data warehouses like Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, or Redshift.

• Experience in making decisions related to warehouse performance, cost, and scalability.

• Knowledge of establishing semantic layer strategies and reliable metric definitions throughout an organization.

• Ability to convert complex business priorities into a clear data platform roadmap.

• Strong communication skills with senior stakeholders.

• Preferred: Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration tools like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect, and AI-assisted analytics engineering workflows.

• Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada; no work authorization, relocation assistance, or visa sponsorship will be provided.

• Successful candidates must undergo a background check.
