• Enhance Nitrogen's AI capabilities by leveraging your expertise in designing and deploying agentic systems for operational use.
• Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of AI features: from agent design and orchestration to evaluation and hardening, ensuring reliable production systems that advisors can depend on.
• Establish the foundational elements that ensure agents are dependable: memory systems, evaluation frameworks, and methodologies that enhance agent decision-making at scale.
• Set a high standard for technical productivity through in-depth, fluent, and consistently advancing use of agentic AI development tools.
• Innovate AI-augmented engineering practices within the team, including prompts, harness configurations, and multi-agent orchestration, and share these practices to accelerate team performance.
• Deliver high-quality, production-grade features at a pace that significantly surpasses traditional engineering throughput while consistently meeting commitments.
• Provide architectural guidance across AI systems and the associated services and data flows that support them.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of how our domain-specific data impacts our customers and their product experiences.
• Proactively recognize and resolve technical debt and developer experience challenges, advocating for AI-enhanced solutions.
• Mentor and uplift the technical capabilities of fellow engineers, especially in the development and deployment of AI systems.
• Exhibit a continuous improvement mindset in both personal growth and all technical processes.
• **Agentic Engineering.** You operate at the forefront of AI-augmented engineering. Tools such as **Claude Code, Devin, and Cursor** are integral to your building process, not supplemental to a traditional workflow. You manage multiple agents concurrently and utilize them to enhance staff-level judgment rather than replace it.
• **AI Systems & Products.** You have experience deploying AI systems into production, not merely prototypes. You develop agentic workflows, agent memory, and orchestration, and understand the requirements to ensure they are reliable, observable, and safe for actual users.
• **Evaluation & Quality at Scale.** You possess a thorough understanding of the evaluation frameworks that enhance agent decision-making at scale. You design evaluations, meticulously assess agent behavior, and convert those insights into systems that improve measurably over time.
• **AI Tooling & Frameworks.** You are proficient with the frameworks that drive modern AI systems, including **LangChain, LangGraph, GraphQL, and MCP**. You adopt new tools more swiftly than your peers and can clearly articulate the fit of each tool.
• **AI-Native Productivity.** You consistently deliver more, with superior quality, than traditional throughput permits. You have internalized the disciplines that maximize the effectiveness of agentic tooling: clear specifications, tight feedback loops, thorough reviews of agent output, and intentional context engineering.
• **Experience.** You possess **8+ years** of practical engineering experience, with significant expertise in creating production systems and a keen understanding of how data engines and pipelines function internally.
• **Technical Leadership.** You are a respected technical authority whom others consult for resolving complex challenges and making impactful decisions. You have delivered tech talks internally or at conferences, actively mentor others, reduce knowledge silos, and elevate the team's overall capabilities.
• **Data Fluency.** You are adept with **SQL & Python in Snowflake & dbt** and understand the complexities of real-world data. Experience with CDC, APIs, and services such as **DMS, OpenFlow, Kafka**, or similar technologies is highly desirable.
