This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products
β’ Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability
β’ Utilize Open Source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch
β’ Develop and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance scalability, cost efficiency, latency, and throughput
β’ Contribute to the technical vision and long-term strategy for foundational AI systems at Capital One
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in AI and ML algorithm or technology development, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience
β’ A minimum of 8 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java
β’ At least 8 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms (preferred)
β’ Experience in architecting, designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems
β’ Capability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level
β’ Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang
β’ Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (preferred)
β’ Experience in developing and applying advanced techniques for optimizing training and inference software
β’ Enthusiasm for current AI research and AI systems
β’ Exceptional communication and presentation skills
