This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to create AI-driven products.
β’ Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI software components, including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
β’ Utilize open-source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, NeMo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
β’ Innovate and implement cutting-edge LLM optimization techniques to enhance scalability, cost-effectiveness, latency, and throughput of production AI systems.
β’ Contribute to the technical vision and the long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.
β’ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or AI, along with a minimum of 8 years of experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
β’ At least 8 years of programming experience in Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
β’ 8 years of experience in deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private clouds.
β’ Proven experience in architecting, designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
β’ Capability to lead and mentor multiple engineering teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders up to the VP level.
β’ Experience in developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, including LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory, using Python, C++, C#, Java, or Golang.
β’ Familiarity with developing and applying advanced techniques for optimizing training and inference software.
β’ A strong passion for keeping up with AI research and AI systems.
β’ Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
