This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Establish and promote the integration of generative AI and automation throughout the engineering department.
• Create and deploy functional automations and agents.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify workflow issues, tooling deficiencies, and challenges.
• Convert insights into a prioritized list of AI-driven solutions.
• Manage the AI enablement roadmap, gain leadership support, implement it, and monitor its impact.
• Assess and trial AI coding assistants and agentic developer tools.
• Conceptualize, construct, and maintain specialized automation agents on a unified architecture.
• Analyze and quantify automation effects, including time savings, quality enhancements, and user adoption.
• Collaborate across the organization to upgrade rules-based or heuristic systems using data-driven and machine learning-informed strategies.
• Establish frameworks and guidelines for adoption that ensure quality, security, cost-effectiveness, and responsible usage.
• Advocate for AI and automation best practices through documentation, demonstrations, informal sessions, and hands-on collaboration.
• Communicate AI trade-offs, such as build versus buy, cost, latency, quality, and risk, to both engineers and leadership.
• Over 8 years of experience in software engineering.
• Proven history of delivering production systems from start to finish.
• Practical experience with LLMs and agentic systems, including prompt engineering, context/tool design, evaluation, and orchestration.
• Experience at a production level with contemporary AI coding assistants and agentic development tools.
• Fundamental knowledge of applied machine learning, including features, evaluation, and model selection.
• Capability to drive technical adoption within an engineering organization without direct authority.
• Strong product instincts related to internal tooling.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Previous experience as a staff or principal-level individual contributor, preferably with cross-team or platform responsibilities.
• Familiarity with vector search/RAG, model evaluation frameworks, and LLM observability is preferred.
• Experience in the healthcare, healthtech, or other regulated industries is preferred.
