This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Guatemala.
• You will be responsible for the entire accounting cycle for each assigned client, encompassing transaction entry to financial reporting.
• Oversee daily bookkeeping tasks, including transaction entry, categorization, and coding for all client accounts.
• Conduct monthly reconciliations of bank and credit card accounts, promptly addressing any discrepancies.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, handling payments, and following up on collections as necessary.
• Prepare and record journal entries related to accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and other adjustments at period-end.
• Maintain each client’s general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness at all times.
• Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes for all assigned clients, adhering to both internal and client-facing deadlines.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for each client, which include income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Provide reporting packages that are clear, accurate, and customized to meet each client's needs and financial understanding.
• Conduct variance analysis and proactively highlight significant trends, anomalies, or concerns to clients or firm management.
• Assist in budget preparation and updates for forecasts as required for assigned clients.
• Support year-end reporting and the preparation of schedules necessary for tax filings or external reviews.
• Communicate directly with assigned clients in both English and Spanish (when necessary), handling meetings, responding to inquiries, and delivering financial updates professionally in both languages.
• Collect documentation, clarify transactions, and provide financial explanations in a clear and client-friendly way.
• Build and nurture strong working relationships with each client, acting as their trusted accounting point of contact.
• Ensure data integrity across platforms and maintain organized, clean client files within each system.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential, with both written and verbal fluency required for this position.
• A minimum of 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience, ideally within a public accounting firm or multi-client setting.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is mandatory.
• Familiarity with NetSuite or the demonstrated capability to navigate enterprise-level accounting platforms.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, the complete accounting cycle, and financial statement preparation.
• Proven capability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously while ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
