
Staff Accountant – Senior Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Engage actively in daily operational accounting tasks.
• Assist in creating financial reports and analyses for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepare reconciliations on a monthly and quarterly basis.
• Analyze financial transactions, address accounting discrepancies, and pinpoint significant variations.
• Design and implement processes aimed at automation, scalability, and efficiency to enhance accounting practices and boost productivity.
• Act as a financial partner to HR, collaborating with our PEO on payroll modifications, benefits management, PTO oversight, headcount planning, new hire onboarding, terminations, benefits reconciliation, and compensation reporting.
• Reconcile payroll liabilities, including taxes, benefits, garnishments, and 401(k) contributions.
• Actively participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax specialists.
• Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and internal controls.
• Aid in the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasting.
• Work alongside the finance leader on federal, state, and local tax filings and registrations, in coordination with external tax advisors, while monitoring deadlines and filing statuses.
• Assist with accounting for equity compensation, including stock options and RSUs.
• Proactively identify issues, risks, and discrepancies.
• Conduct special projects and research on accounting and control matters as needed.
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in financial reporting and/or general accounting.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and the capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills are necessary.
• Intermediate Excel skills are required.
• Outstanding time management, planning, and organizational abilities.
• Capability to thrive in a remote work environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, anticipate challenges, and develop solutions.
• Competence in analyzing problems and evaluating multiple alternative solutions for prompt decision-making.
