This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Assist in the comprehensive general ledger closing process for assigned sites and entities.
• Maintain closing checklists, post-close review certifications, and ensure controlled, compliant closing procedures.
• Conduct analysis of profit and loss statements as well as balance sheets.
• Provide post-close analysis, reporting, participation in monthly operating reviews, and operational assessments to hospital leadership.
• Offer direct support to sites during the closing process.
• Collaborate with Technical Accounting and hospital operations leaders to address complex accounting matters.
• Oversee joint venture accounting, reporting, and distribution processes.
• Assist in summarizing the annual budget.
• Clarify trends and variances in hospital projections.
• Ensure robust internal controls and accurate, timely, compliant financial reporting.
• Manage periodic balance sheet reviews and post-closing activities.
• Provide explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual general ledger variances.
• Act as a liaison with external stakeholders regarding financial reports and information.
• Work in conjunction with hospital leadership on operational metrics and strategies.
• Prepare regulatory filings, including affiliation and licensure renewals, sales, use, and excise tax returns, escheatment submissions, and facility-specific reports.
• Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting is required.
• Experience in the healthcare or hospital sector is preferred.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
