This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.
• Prepare, examine, and post journal entries for designated hospitals and facility portfolios.
• Oversee the monthly journal entry process for approximately two assigned facilities.
• Collaborate with Site Liaisons, facility leadership, HSC teams, and other LBS accounting groups during the month-end close.
• Review journal entries to ensure approvals, supporting documentation, and accounting accuracy.
• Conduct general ledger and subledger analysis and investigate transaction activities.
• Utilize OTBI and Oracle reporting tools to research transactions and assist with accounting analyses.
• Maintain month-end close checklists and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Prepare and analyze accruals, prepaid amortization schedules, and recurring accounting entries.
• Contribute to financial reporting through account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entry support.
• Work with cross-functional teams to address accounting issues and enhance processes.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at close efficiency and process standardization.
• Support assigned facilities across various U.S. markets and time zones.
• Assist with special projects, audits, and ad hoc financial analyses.
• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and HIPAA standards.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficient in preparing and posting journal entries in a high-volume environment.
• Strong experience with month-end close processes.
• Familiarity with accrual accounting and prepaid amortization.
• Experience in general ledger accounting and account analysis.
• Comprehensive understanding of journal entries, month-end close processes, accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and the financial statement impact of transactions.
• Ability to analyze accounting transactions and pinpoint discrepancies.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
• Competence in using reporting tools and conducting transaction-level research.
• Intermediate Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, and data analysis.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills, along with stakeholder partnership abilities.
• Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple deadlines.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with demanding month-end deadlines.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• Experience in healthcare or hospital accounting is preferred but not required.
• Preferred experience in shared services or multi-entity accounting.
