
Staff Accountant – Clinical Practice Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.
• Prepare and document journal entries while executing account reconciliations for monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Maintain accounting records along with supporting schedules for practice balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Generate monthly accounting reports and analyses for gross patient revenue and gross-to-net revenue adjustments.
• Account for the cost of goods sold, which includes cosmetic inventory, laboratory costs, pathology expenses, and direct patient care costs.
• Record and analyze operating expenses, encompassing payroll accruals, medical supplies, occupancy costs, vendor invoices, and other practice-related expenses.
• Prepare and reconcile critical balance sheet accounts.
• Conduct monthly trend analyses of revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, and practice profitability.
• Investigate significant financial variances and propose corrective measures.
• Collaborate with Practice Operations, Procurement, Payroll, FP&A, and Treasury.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial packages along with supporting schedules for physician practices.
• Help with audit schedules and provide necessary documentation for both internal and external audits.
• Enhance accounting processes, internal controls, procedures, and improve month-end close efficiency.
• Engage in process improvement initiatives, system implementations, and various other accounting projects.
• Execute additional accounting and financial reporting tasks as assigned.
• A bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 1–4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
• Familiarity with month-end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience in accounting for accounts receivable, accruals, inventory, and operating expenses.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including proficiency with PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and complex formulas.
• Experience with ERP and financial management systems.
• Background in a multi-entity or multi-location healthcare environment.
• Public accounting or corporate accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or multi-entity organizations is a plus.
• Familiarity with Netsuite and Workday Adaptive Analytics is an advantage.
